SWINBURNE. -February 26, at Warwick, Queensland,by an accident, Charles Swinburne, of North Toolburra station, Darling Downs, only son of Matthew Swinburne,Newcastle-on-Tyne, England, and son-in-law of the late Hon. John Davies, C.M.G., Sydney
The Brisbane Courier (Qld. : 1864 - 1933) Thu 28 Feb 1901 WARWICK, February 27. A terribly and fatal accident occurred last evening, when Mr. Charles Swinburne, of North Toolburra, lost his life. Accompanied by two companions in a sulky, he left town for home in the afternoon, and was only half a mile from North Toolburra, when the horse dashed the vehicle into a tree, and all three occupants were thrown out,but Swinburne was the only one injured. He died before reaching home. The accident has produced quite a shock on the community, by whom the deceased was universally well liked, and deep sympathy is felt for his wife and young family. Mrs.Swinburne is just now in Sydney, arranging for residence in that city.
