      James and Hannah's three sons all enlisted for WWII.Burnett enlisted at Maclean NSW on 19th August 1941 , and was assigned to the 1st Infantry Battalion, his brothers Cyril and Fabian both enlisted at Tomago,NSW on 31st July 1942 .They were given the Service numbers NX118414(Cyril) and NX114815(Fabian) and assigned to the 13th Infantry Battalion.

      The three brothers service records state they were stationed in New Guinea in the latter part of 1945,(all three having fought there during the campaign in 1943-44)after the Japanese surrender, to complete mopping up operations,and to undertake the heartbreaking task of locating and identifying those allied soldiers killed in action or murdered by the Japanese whilst Prisoners of War.

      The Sydney Morning Herald (NSW : 1842 - 1954) Tuesday 16 September 1930 p 6 Article "WILLIAMS v WILLIAMS. Hannah Williams (formerly Zimmerman) petitioned for a divorce from Franklyn James Williams, on the ground of his misconduct.The marriage took place on May 16. 1917. A decree nisi was granted, returnable in six months. Mr. Vincent J. Brady appeared for petitioner."
