- In 1921, due to failing health, William sold his property"Erindale" and moved to Collaroy in Sydney.He soon became a councillor on the Warringah Shire Council.Makim Street in Dee Why bears testament to his efforts.A masonry drinking fountain in Collaroy is also dedicated to his memory.
