- With a scarcity of records still in existance,due to many records being destroyed in a fire at Closeburn Castle in 1748, the next generation is unproven,however, this desendancy is a duplicate of a family tree deposited with the Public Records Office of Northern Ireland in the late 19th century.A complete copy of this chart was kindly provided by Mrs Marj Appleyard, of Coopers Plains,Queensland,Australia. This chart is obviously not a complete descendancy ,and not all the descendants have been drawn into the chart, and as the chart is understandably quite difficult to decipher , care will be taken to completely ,and as accuratley as possible , provide an accurate record .
In this instance I have called the gentleman (A),to align these records with the family chart held by the Public Records Office of Northern Ireland
