    • James was a farmer at Ballynafarshen prior to relocating to Ballynagashel House.He later obtained more farms at Priestland,Ballytober ,and Carncullagh,and held lands in conacre* at Springmount.He utilised water from the local stream to provide power for the flax mill he built at Ballynagashel,and also a corn mill he established at Drones.
      *conacre is a system of letting land , formerly in small patches or strips, and usually for tillage (growth of corn or potatoees ).
