"Word has been received by Mr. & Mrs. A. Cory of Terry Hie Hie, to the effect that their son, Flight/Sergt.John Keith Cory, is missing after air operations over enemy territory in France on July 1st."
Ref: Warialda Standard and Northern Districts' Advertiser (NSW : 1900 - 1954) Mon 5 Feb 1945 Mr. and Mrs. A. Cory of Terry Hie Hie, received word to the effect that the Lancaster Bomber, together with the bodies of the crew of seven, of which her son, Flight/Sergt. John Keith Cory, was a member, and who was posted as missing on July 1st,1944, has been found. Two of the crew have been identified, and it is assumed that one of the unidentified bodies is that of their son The late Flight/Sergt. Cory, who was in his 21st year, enlisted in the R.A.A.F. at Moree about three years ago. He received his training in Sydney and Canada, and later went to England, where he became attached to a Lancaster Bomber as a wireless operator In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother and sister, the former being Mr. Nolan Cory (Terry Hie Hie) and the latter Doris, Mrs. Bate (Cooparoo)
