"MR. W. H. FLOWERS. ROCKHAMPTON, March 15. The death of Mr. William Henry Flowers on Wednesday has removed another link with Rockhamptons early days. A native of Lincolnshire, England, Mr. Flowers came to Australia in 1865. He came to the Rockhampton district, and was a permanent resident of the city from 1901 onwards. Mr. Flowers and his brother, Mr. F. Flowers, engaged in pastoral pursuits, and in the early days they owned Pine Mountain station, near Torilla. Later they entered into partnership in taking over Medway at Bogantungan, but the drought drove them out, and Mr. W. H. Flowers came to Rockhampton and set up in business as a commission agent. He retired from business 20 years ago. In his younger days Mr. Flowers took a keen interest in shire council affairs and was also a member of the Agricultural Society. He had been ailing for several years, and his end was not unexpected. He was in his 88th year.

He is survived by a widow, one son, and two daughters- Mr. J. B. R. Flowers, of Blackwater, Mrs. Angus MacDonald, of Tubera station, Aramac. and Miss Jessica Flowers, of Melbourne."
