"Death of Mr. Marwood Cleeve Mr Marwood H. Cleeve, a native of Penrith, died at West Maitland, on Wednesday evening, after a brief: illness. Deceased, who was 58 years of age, was the son of the late Mr J. K.Cleeve, for many years police magistrate in Penrith. Mr Marwood Cleeve entered tlhe service of the Justice Department, and became C.P.S. at Penrith After leaving here he was promoted to a police magistracy, and lind been car- rying out such duties in the Maitland district at the time of his death. He was well known in sporting circles, and was a good cricketer and footballer. He had played interstate Rugby Union football. Mr Cleeve served in the war as a captain, and took part in the landing at Gallipoli, where he was awarded the Military Cross. He was invalided home in 1917, and retired with the rank of major. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs Kingmill,of Cowra. Mrs John Angus is a sister of deceased."
