- An entry in the London Gazette PETITIONS of INSOLVENT DEBTORS, to be heard at the Court, in Portugal-Street,Liricoln's-Inns Fields, Middlesex, on Tuesday the 30th day of May 1826,. at Nine o'clock in the forenoon. "Aiskell, Ann (sued as Ann Askell), formerly of Perry's-Hill, Sydenhain, Kent, and late of No. 15, Grafton-Street East, Tottenbam-Court-Road, Middlesex, Widow of Francis Kirkpatrick Aiskell, formerly a Captain in the East India Conipany's Service, in the Madras Establishment."
This establishes Ann as Francis Kirkpatrick Aiskells' wife , and not Mary Turing, who was likely his fathers second wife. (To date a marriage record has not been found)

Notes |
- Francis applied for a cadetship with the HEICS in 1789-99 (Ref:Applications for Cadetships in EIC Armies 1789-1860 -Index)
He was dismissed from the Madras Army on 5 Apr 1810, and ordered to remove himself to England at the earliest opportunity. He was to be courtmartialled in 1809 ,along with eighteen other officers ,the charge being "desertion of their post at Chittledroog , and disobeying a direct lawful order. They were also charged with plundering villages between Chittledroog ,and Seringapatam." Those charged had the option of dismissal , or face the Court.( Reference -Selections from Calcutta gazettes of the years 1784 -1823 inclusive .
Francis sailed from Madras to England on the vessel Ann , departing on 17th March,1811-but as Mr F.K Aiskill, and not as Capt Aiskill.Ref:Entry from Departures from Madras Almanac 1810 - 1820
- (Research):Ref for birth and Baptism-England and Wales Christening Records 1530-1906.These records list Francis as his father , but "Sophia" as his mother,so this Francis seems to be a grandson of Charlotte Kirkpatrick, and not her son ,of the same name. After locating a marriage record for Francis Aiskell, and Sophia Stephenson ,in the Tynemouth, Northumberland, England; Collection,I have added them as Francis Kirkpatrick Aiskell's parents.
