  . Ancestors are said to belong to the old stock of Camerons who lived in Nether Lochaber for generations back. His descendants have made a claim of illegitimate descent from the Camerons of Erracht, suggesting that this may have been Ewen of Erracht, father of Sir Alan Cameron of the 79th Highlanders.
