    • Ref: Australian Infantry records .In the Australia Death Index, 1787-1985 -Qld BDM 1922/F2126 (Parents Robert Davidson and Mary Ann Lord)- there is also a record - the informant was Mary Ann Adams , but it was mistakeny made in 1922 ,and simply states that William was Killed in Action .The AIF registered all deaths on duty , and the deaths were not recorded in the BDM records in Australia , so it appears that Mary was simply confused,as she did not receive Williams medals ,and Memorial Plaque until 1922.
