- In 1852 George purchased land in Turner Street, Ryde ,from Sydney timber dealer George Head .George Porter was acting as trustee for Henry William Watts, then 10 years old and the son of George's half-sister Sarah Watts.
- (Research):George's birth is actually registered as the son of Richard and Ann(Mary Anns mother) , but Ann was deceased in 1805.(NSW BDM V1808989 4/1808)
