  Married: The Sydney Morning Herald (NSW : 1842 - 1954) Friday 18 October 1940 "RIDDLE v RIDDLE. Peter Riddle v Linda May Riddle (formerly Casey) ; Richard Peter Buttel, corespondent. Marriage, February 23, 1922 at Sydney, Congregational rites. Issue adultery. Petitioner said he was a horse-trainer. Unhappiness had arisen in the home because of his wife's drinking habits and due to her staying out all night, and also because of her swearing in front of their daughter. In 1938, a deed of separation was drawn up. Early in 1940 from something he had heard concerning his wife's conduct, he engaged the services of a private inquiry agent. On March 17 a raid was made on a flat in Bridge Road, Forest Lodge, and his wife and corespondent were found asleep , together in a bedroom. His Honor granted a decree nisi."
