- In addition to the six children listed, there was another child , the twin of Edwin, who did not survive ,dying as an infant.
Josiah and Sarah came to Australia,as unassisted passengers,arriving in Melbourne,Victoria on 6th May, 1874 on board the "Northumberland" with all their surviving children. The family travelled to Elsmore in Northern NSW where Josiah took up work in the tin mines and and became the manager of the first Elsmore Tin Mining Company.
